Next May 24-27, more than 8,000 of the most creative students from more than 15 countries will attend the 17th Destination Imagination’s Global Finals in Knoxville, Tennessee. The finalists will showcase their innovative solutions in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), as well as fine arts, service learning and improvisation at what is called “the world’s largest celebration of creativity.”
Students form teams to solve one of the seven open-ended, project-based Team Challenges: Technical Challenge, Scientific Challenge, Engineering Challenge, Fine Arts Challenge, Improvisational Challenge, Service Learning Challenge, and the Early Learners Challenge. All of them are designed to teach students the creative process and to help bridge the gap between what students learn in school and the skills they will need to thrive in the modern economy.
