As the tech industry becomes increasingly competitive, recruiters are on the hunt for the ideal candidate. HiringSolved, the AI recruitment platform, identified the most in-demand skills required for the 2017 technology job market.
The study identifies which skills have the highest market value in the tech jobs market by analyzing the candidates who were hired or promoted in 2016 and 2017. According to the findings, if a company wanted to “build” the ideal tech candidate for this year, the candidate should posses one or more of this top ten skills:

- Java
- Cloud Services
- Linux
- JavaScript
- SQL
- Matlab
- HTML
- Perl
- Go
HiringSolved also compiled the leading universities with the most undergraduate and graduate alumni hired by the 25 biggest Silicon Valley employers in the last year (spoiler alert: none of them are in the Ivy League):
- University of California, Berkeley
- Stanford University
- Carnegie Mellon University
- University of Southern California
- The University of Texas at Austin
- Georgia Institute of Technology
- University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
- San Jose State University
- University of California, San Diego
