About us

The Observatory of Educational Innovation seeks to inspire teachers worldwide through news, analyses, opinion articles, and specialized content in education that invite critical reflection and the generation of ideas that contribute to improving the standard of living in their environments.

Mission

We want to inspire teachers worldwide through news, analyses, opinion articles, and specialized content in education that invite critical reflection and generation of ideas that contribute to improving the standard of living in their environments, as promulgated by the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) of the United Nations (UN).

To provide reliable information, the Observatory executes four primary tasks: 

  1. Monitor, identify and analyze educational trends.
  2. Spread educational innovation ideas through efficient and timely communication.
  3. Boost and promote innovation at Tecnológico de Monterrey and the world.
  4. Promote reflection on peripheral issues in the educational experience and the production of knowledge, including social, psychological, philosophical, scientific and political issues and any others relevant to education and epistemology.

Content Use Rights

The Observatory publishes under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license. The contents generated by it are free. Readers are free to copy, distribute, and communicate this content as long as they provide a link to the original source and reference to the author when sharing our material.

Collaboration and Speech

The Observatory works through a highly collaborative and free editorial process. The members of the editorial team monitor relevant topics related to innovation and educational advancement daily. 

The sources used in each publication are reviewed for veracity and relevance. The editorial team has access to Tecnológico de Monterrey’s academic library, various experts, and highly specialized consultations to prepare the published content.

The Observatory is committed to the freedom of expression of its collaborators and guests and ethical and practical quality in disseminating content. The article authors and people cited within the contents must have experience and knowledge of the subject covered in each published text.

The Observatory is not responsible for the personal opinions expressed by collaborators and invited authors who do not necessarily share the ideas, perspectives, and policies of Tecnológico de Monterrey.

The Observatory maintains a commitment to the core values of the higher education institution and adheres to ethical practices in dissemination and communications. These are the values that define us.

Integrity

The editorial team, collaborators and guests of the Observatory commit to generate content free of plagiarism and distortions. The information shared by this organization is subject to fact-checking standards and the fidelity and validity of the sources used.

Transparency

Access to information is a fundamental value of academic and scientific dissemination. The sources and mechanisms used to produce the Observatory’s content are public and transparent. 

Nevertheless, there are exceptions and specific cases where it is necessary to protect a source’s confidentiality or if the information obtained for a publication is behind a paywall.

Respect

The content produced by the Observatory is carried out in a timely, objective, and well-founded manner. It is a forum for useful information on education, reflection, and discussion and accepts diverse opinions, free from prejudice, presented professionally under the quality standards of a professional dissemination medium.

We are committed to both truthful information and free expression, and adherence to fundamental human values. We support the institution’s representatives to which we belong and respect our collaborators, guests, and readers’ sensitivity and human dignity. 

Education

Our primary purpose is the dissemination of informational and educational content. The material is generated as a resource for teachers, students and support staff to have relevant information on educational trends and others that influence education.

Empathy and inclusion are vital ethical elements underlying visibility and equity for millions of teachers, students, educational support staff, collaborators, and guests of the Observatory and readers and the general public.

Global citizenship implies an awareness of how individual and group decisions influence well-being in the global ecosystem. The Observatory shows its commitment to one of the core values in the 21st century by sharing knowledge and seeking a forum for dialogue based on equity and responsibility.
