Many students struggle with math and need extra support. Unfortunately, not all students can afford extra math help lessons. Yet, a poor understanding of math prevents many students from pursuing their dream careers and also impairs other crucial skills.
In response to the rise in international numeric illiteracy (innumeracy), Dr. Iris Mack, PhD in Applied Mathematics from Harvard University, developed MathQED to assist any math student, from kindergarten to college.
In 2007 Dr. Iris Mack created its predecessor, the mathematics social network, Phatmath, to help students overcome math anxiety. Now, MathQED focuses on two important principles: that every student deserves a solid education in mathematics and access to affordable math tutoring and homework help.
The platform provides student-teacher interaction via online forums, chat rooms and cooperative problem solving. Students can ask or answer questions, assist other students, and solve challenging problems. Students will also find tips to prepare for exams, including the SAT, ACT, GRE, GMAT and LSAT exams. A MathQED Mobile App is expected to be launched by mid 2017.
