OpenClassrooms, the French online platform, joins the club by offering job guarantees similar to other online platforms like Udacity, Springboard and Revature. The platform is guaranteeing students they will find a job within six months of earning their degree, or they will give them their money back.
“In the modern world it is essential to offer this level of commitment to students,” wrote Pierre Dubuc, Co-founder of OpenClassrooms on the platform’s blog. “A balance must be struck between vocational education and the employment opportunities it leads to.”
Dubuc points out that the digital revolution demands new talent for emerging digital professions, but this demand is not met due to the lack of fast and effective training programs. To tackle this problem, the platform is training students in six months, providing a degree in partnership with CentraleSupélec, one of France’s top higher education and research Institutions.
Right now, the job guarantee is only available to students studying in France, but OpenClassrooms aims to achieve a 100% employment rate for everyone in the world.
