The Quality Matters (QM) Awards recognize individual and institutional efforts for their contributions to digital learning, demonstrating their commitment to ensuring the high quality of their courses and improving their students’ experiences. This year’s winners will be honored at the QM Annual Conference on Quality Assurance in Online Learning on November 6-9, 2022, in Tucson, Arizona.

This award distinguishes Tec de Monterrey for its commitment to aligning with QM quality standards, offering more than 440 digital courses at the high school, professional and postgraduate levels. In addition, the institution was instrumental in translating the ‘Quality Matters’ rubric into Spanish, a contribution that will impact thousands of students worldwide.

More about Quality Matters and the Tec de Monterrey

Tec de Monterrey has been a member of this organization since August 2018, establishing an agreement with QM to bring its evaluation standards and rubrics to the Latin American context and thus promote academic quality in the distance programs of Latin American universities. to enhance student learning and faculty development.

In July 2019, Tec de Monterrey became the first institution in Latin America to offer a course certified by Quality Matters: “Foresight and Innovation,” belonging to the Master of Business Administration. As a result of this accreditation, the QM rubrics for course design became the standard that the institution uses for its online courses.

In 2021, Tec de Monterrey added three new online postgraduate course certifications issued by QM: “Foresight and Innovation,” “Social responsibility, ethics and sustainability,” and “Leadership for Sustainable Development.” Teachers and instructional designers continued to be certified in using and applying the QM quality rubrics.

More recently, in 2022, Tec de Monterrey obtained the certification of the first Continuing Education program in Latin America with the QM quality standards. Likewise, it was recognized with the ‘Quality Matters: Making a Difference for Students’ Award in the new category ‘Outstanding Impact by a Non-U.S. Higher Education Organization.’
