José “Pepe” Escamilla had an eye-opening conversation with Marc Brackett, director of the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence, who recently published “Permission to Feel: Unlocking the Power of Emotions to Help Our Kids, Ourselves, and Our Society Thrive.”
Brackett talked about his RULER approach to social and emotional learning. He also discussed what schools are doing to prevent bullying and what role parents and teachers play in the development of students’ emotional intelligence.
