Kids are often an easy target for cybercriminals because most of them have some online presence, either in online gaming or social media.

Aiming to become guidance for kids by teaching the fundamentals of internet safety and digital citizenship, Google created “Interland,” an online game that is available for free.
This innovative game is part of “Be Internet Awesome Curriculum,” also by Google that develops five internet principals; internet smart, internet alert, internet strong, internet kind and internet brave.
It includes four mini-games: Mindful Mountain, where kids focus on sharing information online only to people they trust, Tower of Treasure where kids learn to build strong passwords, Reality River that teaches to stay away from fake profiles and phishing and Kind Kingdom, which encourages children to be kind to others and report cyberbullies.
Interland also allows kids to help fellow internauts tackle severe attacks of hackers, phishers, and bullies, encouraging them to be good digital citizens.
The programme also comes along with “the Internet Awesome Curriculum” for the educators to teach kids about digital safety in classrooms.
