The new Tec de Monterrey technology exchange center opened its doors in the Chinese city of Hangzhou. The goal of this enterprise is to materialize Tec’s technological research with the aid of Chinese expertise and investment.

The work will start this year with the arrival of 500 researchers and students to the city of Hangzhou to achieve advances in biomedicine, mechanical engineering, food engineering and applications for commercial purposes.

During the inaugural ITESM exhibition, more than a dozen project agreements were signed and will be funded by Chinese companies, Xinhua news agency reported.

“We hope to raise $ 2.5 million in Hangzhou and enter the global market from China,” said César Bustos, head of one of the projects that make wearables to detect heart emergencies. In turn, Alfonso Araújo, director of the center, said it is easier to find capital and technology in Hangzhou to market certain Mexican projects. He also stated that the primary industries, internet, and medical technology in Hangzhou relate to the research that the Tec de Monterrey is undertaking.
